sub.net uses email as the primary way of delivering information to users and systems. This has some major advantages over traditional monitoring systems –

  • Integrates easily into an organisation’s workflow
  • Minimises communication security issues
  • Important information is available immediately
  • No master station software is required
  • Reports are received in the office or out on site anywhere in the world
  • Comms network supports large numbers during storms etc.
  • Settable levels for receiving report priority and detail
  • Source data attachments for further analysis and archiving
  • Email lists and groups used to manage large numbers of users
  • Reports can be annotated and forwarded easily
  • Simple sorting, searching and archiving
  • Automatic rules for grouping reports, audible notifications & forwarding

Sub.net creates formatted reports on triggered events, on a regular basis and on demand from the user. Event reports are analysed, classified and prioritised to ensure that the right type and quantity of information is sent to each user.

Trend and power quality information can be reported every day, week or month. Both event and trend reports can be created on demand via the web interface and then emailed.

Each report type has a summary, graphs, tables and source data attachments. Each user can set the amount of detail sent by email. The attachments can be in Comtrade, CSV or XML format.

The email application is a directory of all the reports. The Sent time is the trigger time, the From field is the substation name and the Subject is the event classification.

Data attachments can be automatically removed and imported to other applications like data Historians and Asset Condition databases.
